BRAD HESTAND After nearly 20 years in the beauty industry as a stylist and makeup artist training with Eric Fisher, Aveda, Bumble and Bumble, Vidal Sassoon Academy, and Kerastase, Brad had the opportunity to open Bzar Salon in December of 2013. "I love doing hair. I don't know what I'd do without it or the amazing clients I spend my days with. I used to get in trouble at school for talking. Now I get to do it all day for a living!"
JIM GRIMES, an expert in the beauty industry for nearly forty years, is a Kansas City native but proudly calls Lawrence his home. He owned and operated Headmasters Salon for over three decades and has trained with Master stylists at Redken and Aveda. One of Jim's other loves is Gardening. The garden and landscaping at 809 Vermont is certainly evidence of that! "The chemistry of hair is endlessly fascinating to me. I absolutely love this industry!"
MACIE JO SANKO A native of Great Bend and a graduate of Marinello, Macie has lived in Lawrence for a little over a year and is excited to start her career in place that will allow her plenty of artistic freedom. She's trained with Wella and Sebastian while in school and has recently had classes with Keune and 18.21 Man Made! "I started doing hair even before attending cosmetology school. I would help women in a rehab house get ready for job interviews by styling their hair. It was there that I found my passion for hair and being of service to others."
MARIA COFFEY has recently moved to Lawrence from Mclouth after receiving her training at Regency Beauty Institute and is excited to meet new people, enjoy the unique culture in town, and make a name for herself as a stylist in demand. Maria has had advanced training with Keune, Wella, Sebastian, and Glo Skin Beauty. "I think the most rewarding thing in the world is making people feel better about themselves. That's why I followed my dream and became a hairstyist!"
